Choosing a private event venue in Amsterdam usually means selecting between a canal house room, a hotel meeting space, or an industrial event venue like Westergasfabriek. All good options. But for events that should not feel like other events, product launches, client celebrations, partner gatherings, board retreats, Faralda Crane Hotel offers a setting no other Amsterdam venue can replicate. A restored harbour crane on the NDSM yard, fifty metres above the IJ, exclusively available for your group. Private access, no external guests, and an industrial monument as backdrop for an evening that stays in the collective memory of your team.
Product launches for select guests. For brands launching new products to a small group of press, partners, or top clients. Faralda’s exclusivity and visual quality work for lifestyle, fashion, design, and luxury brands wanting to present their product in a setting that reinforces the story.
Client celebrations and partnership events. For B2B companies marking a key relationship with a unique experience. A day or evening on the Faralda crane with a specific client or partner functions as a visible signal that the relationship is valuable enough for an exceptional setting.
Board retreats and strategy sessions. For executive teams or leadership groups combining intensive discussions with an environment that breaks the usual office pattern. Three suites for overnight stays, shared spaces for sessions, private access for guaranteed discretion.
Investor and stakeholder gatherings. For scale-ups, family offices, or investment vehicles offering investors or LPs a personal experience alongside the business update. Faralda’s privacy and standard fit this audience.
Brand experiences for press and influencers. For brands hosting journalists, content creators, or industry influencers for a specific campaign or activation. The Faralda crane itself is a visual story that supports content creation.
Top client fly-ins. For companies flying in an international top client for a specific occasion. Faralda offers an experience unavailable in any other Amsterdam hotel, which makes the difference for clients who already know every five-star property worldwide.
Exclusive use through the Crane buyout. The full Faralda crane, three suites and all shared spaces including the rooftop, can be reserved for one event. No other guests on the crane during your event. No reception with other visitors, no yard tourists in the same space.
Limited scale works for deliberately chosen events. Faralda is not a conference centre for 200+ delegates. With three suites and shared spaces, Faralda works best for events with 10 to 30 participants (depending on format). This scale forces a deliberate choice about who attends, and that often produces better event quality.
Full logistics under one roof. Three suites for overnight guests (max 6 people), shared spaces for sessions, rooftop for drinks or photographs, and direct ferry access from Centraal Station. The full event logistics sit in one place. No bus rides between meeting space and hotel, no logistical complexity for guests.
Industrial monument as visual identity. The Faralda crane itself is content. For brands documenting their event for later communication (photo, video, social media), the crane offers a recognisable visual identity no other Amsterdam event venue can.
Arrival by F4 ferry at 17:00, welcome with champagne, presentation or short programme in the Free Spirit Suite or outdoors on the yard, dinner with catering from NDSM restaurants, after-drinks on the rooftop at sunset. For 8 to 20 guests. Format for product launches, client celebrations, or partnership events.
Arrival day 1 in the afternoon, sessions in shared spaces, dinner on the crane, overnight in suites. Day 2 morning sessions, lunch, and check-out. For 6 to 8 participants (overnight). Format for executive sessions, strategy discussions, or leadership development.
Arrival by ferry, welcome, brand presentation, lunch, professional photo session on the crane, followed by personal experiences (rooftop jacuzzi for select guests, suites tour, or NDSM yard tour). For 10 to 20 guests without overnight stay. Format for press, influencers, or brand activations.
Discreet day or evening with one or two top clients plus internal stakeholders. Combination of business conversation and shared experience (dinner on the crane, jacuzzi access, overnight in suite). For 4 to 8 people total. Format for key account management or partnership negotiation.
Private access for the entire event. With Crane buyout: no other guests on the crane, full discretion guaranteed.
Arrival by F4 ferry. Twelve minutes by free ferry from Centraal Station. For international guests arriving from Schiphol: private transport to the yard available.
Three suites for overnight. With Crane buyout: maximum 6 overnight guests. For larger groups staying overnight, Faralda can be combined with a nearby hotel (Sir Adam in the A’DAM tower, Hotel Jakarta in the Eastern Docklands) for the additional participants.
Shared spaces for sessions. The suites and outdoor spaces on the crane can be used for presentations, small meetings, or brainstorms. For formal boardroom formats Faralda has limitations, but for agile session formats it works well.
Catering fully facilitated. Faralda works with several local NDSM restaurants and caterers for dinner and drinks. From casual lunch to multi-course gala dinner depending on event requirements.
On request: AV and technology. For presentations and speeches, basic AV can be facilitated. For extensive tech requirements (live streaming, complex AV rigging), advance planning is required and external AV partners are typically involved.
On request: music, photography, content creation. Faralda has connections with DJs, music artists, photographers, and video teams from the NDSM scene. For events requiring professional content creation, this can be arranged.
On request: private transport. For international guests, Faralda’s concierge can arrange private drivers from Schiphol, or party boats across the IJ for symbolic arrival.

Honestly: Faralda is not for every private event.
Large events above 30 participants. The physical space on the crane and on the surrounding yard accommodates a maximum of 30 people. For larger events, consider Westergasfabriek (industrial atmosphere, capacity in hundreds), Loft Amsterdam, or a conference hotel.
Events with intensive AV requirements. For events requiring full theatre AV, simultaneous translation, or complex live streaming, Faralda is not equipped. Regular conference venues work better for these needs.
Events on a constrained budget. The Crane buyout with catering, AV, and optional extras requires serious event budget. For budget events, other venues are better suited.
Brief drop-in meetings. For one-hour client meetings or short discussions during a working day, Faralda is not practical. Regular meeting spaces or client offices are more efficient. Faralda works for events that make a difference, not for routine.

Yes. Faralda's combination of exclusivity, visual quality, and privacy fits brands launching products to a select audience.
